Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We greet you with love and joy in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As members of the Greek Orthodox Church of America, we are part of a rich spiritual heritage that spans centuries, rooted in the apostolic tradition and nourished by the life of the Holy Church. One of the essential ways we live out our faith is through stewardship—the sacred responsibility to care for the gifts that God has entrusted to us: our time, talents, and treasures. In the Orthodox Christian understanding, stewardship is not just about financial support, though that is an important component. It is a way of life. It means recognizing that everything we have—our families, our health, our education, our livelihoods, and yes, even our Church belongs first to God. We are simply caretakers, called to use these blessings wisely and generously for the growth of His Kingdom. Our Greek Orthodox parishes across America thrive when each of us offers back to God a portion of what we have received. It is through your stewardship that our churches remain vibrant centers of worship, service, and community. Your offerings sustain our ministries: the Divine Liturgy, youth and senior programs, religious education, outreach to those in need, and the preservation of our cherished traditions. But stewardship is also deeply personal. It is an act of love and trust. When we give, we participate in something greater than ourselves—we become co-workers with Christ in building up His Church. In doing so, we not only strengthen our local parish but also help ensure the future of Orthodoxy in America for generations to come. As we move forward in faith, let us each reflect on how we can deepen our commitment to stewardship. Let our giving come not from obligation, but from gratitude. And may our actions reflect the words of Saint Paul: “Let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver." (2 Corinthians 9:7)
May our Lord bless you and your families abundantly, and may He grant us all the wisdom and strength to be faithful stewards of His grace.
In Christ’s love,
